Bargteheide – The UNICASE housings of NORD's new three-stage type SK 9096.1 helical bevel geared motors have been optimized through FEM calcula-tions, ensuring cost-efficient production and high load capacity. For applications requiring extraordinary strength, the one-piece housings can also be manufactured from ductile iron. The new model complements NORD's series of helical bevel gear units, which now includes 16 sizes with a torque range between 90 and 50,000 Nm and a drive performance range between 0.12 and 200 kW. The robust gearboxes are available with a foot mount, as a foot-and-flange model, shaft-mounted model, and in a special design suitable for agitator applications. Virtually any standard design IEC and NEMA motor can be connected; direct motor connection is also possible. Thanks to a counter bearing in the gearbox, especially short W connections can be implemented. The drive stage and the helical bevel gear can be installed mirror-inverted in order to reverse the direction of rotation. Optionally, the gearboxes can be equipped with an integrated backstop mechanism. A water cooling unit integrated into the gearbox cover is available upon request. All geared motor types are also available as ATEX models for use in hazardous areas.
