We act with integrity and responsibility for the environment. As a company which is aware of its responsibilities, we economise our use of resources and act in an environmentally friendly manner. With energy-efficient drive systems, we support the industry in reducing CO2 emissions.

Principles of responsibility influence our business activities

As a globally active company, we assume our responsibility locally on site and also in our business areas all around the world. We and our employees want to improve continuously, whether in occupational safety or in optimisation of procedures with our suppliers. Economic, profit-oriented development and environmental protection and energy savings are not understood as conflicting interests but rather a common goal.

NORD receives the silver sustainability certificate

This year again, NORD was assessed by the rating agency EcoVadis. The drive specialist achieved 68 out of 100 points and was awarded the silver sustainability certificate. The company improved compared to previous years and is well above the industry average.

Bearing in mind the new Ecodesign Regulation Efficient electric motors from NORD

When the Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2019/1781 comes into force on 1 July 2023, new rules for the energy efficiency of asynchronous motors will apply in Europe. The aim is the reduction and optimisation of energy and resource consumption as systems driven by electric motors consume about 70% of the total industrial energy used. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS thus provides innovations to support its customers with the development of these saving potentials.

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS is expanding its Polish site in Wiechlice

NORD is expanding the factory in Wiechlice in Western Poland to almost three times its previous size. Apart from the extension of the existing factory hall, a new geothermal system will be installed.

Drive specialist NORD DRIVESYSTEMS joins the sustainability initiative of the UN.With 21.000 signees worldwide and more than 940 participating companies in Germany, it is the largest and most important UN initiative for responsible corporate management: the UN Global Compact.

Company Policy and Code of Conduct

The satisfaction and success of our customers is the focus of our thoughts and actions. Our mission statement and our values form the holistic approach with which we reconcile economic efficiency and sustainability in all fields. This does not only include innovations in energy efficiency but also employee-oriented behaviour as well as a global and collaborative network.

This Company Policy applies to all subsidiaries and business units of NORD DRIVESYSTEMS, and is binding for the management board, all managers and employees. We expect our suppliers to pursue the same values, objectives and management approaches. For this reason, the Code of Conduct must also be observed by contract partners working on our premises.

Within the meaning of our Code of Conduct, we assume responsibility by considering the consequences of our business decisions and activities in economic, technological, social and ecological terms, and appropriately reconciling interests.

As a company, we rely on certifications, independent audits, international reporting and memberships in global associations to demonstrate our commitment to transparency and sustainability. In line with our sustainability strategy, we strive to regularly submit ourselves to the evaluation of independent institutions.

Efficient drive solutions from NORD

At NORD DRIVESYSTEMS, we are constantly working to improve our products with regard to their energy consumption. This means not only focusing on financial benefits in view of rising prices of energy. As a dedicated family company, we are also aiming at a positive influence on the global carbon footprint for future generations.

Supply chain (LkSG)

The NORD DRIVESYSTEMS Group will implement the Supply Chain Act by 2023. We want to reassure our customers and all our colleagues that our products are made with raw materials and components from sustainable production and that it goes without saying that our partners along the supply chain are also committed to human rights.

Whistleblowers

According to the Whistleblower Directive, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has set up a system to report infringements. Reports are directly forwarded to our external ombudsman's office, FIRST PRIVACY GmbH in Bremen, Germany, where it will be kept confidential and, after a first review, will be forwarded to our internal compliance office for further consideration.
