Anniversary: 30 years of NORD in the Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is one of the emerging industrial nations in Europe with a long history in mechanical engineering. Today, all NORD products are available in the Czech market. The NORD-Poháněcí Technika, s.r.o. subsidiary celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

NORD-Poháněcí Technika, s.r.o. was founded in Hradec Králové, around 100 kilometres east of Prague, in 1994. Since 1996, the headquarters of the NORD subsidiary has been located directly in Prague. A new assembly facility with a total area of 8167 m2 was built in 2008. The assembly and warehouse take up 1824 m2 and the offices 750 m2. Today, up to 11,000 geared motors up to size 5 are assembled in the modern factory per year. Further branches are located in Hradec Králové, Brno and Ostrava.

As a drive technology supplier, NORD has the largest market share in the Czech Republic. In terms of annual sales, it is among the top 10 of international companies based there.

Comprehensive service and support

NORD works in close cooperation with the its local customers, who particularly value the high quality of the manufacturer’s drive systems and components. “We supply drive solutions that meet our customers’ requirements and provide comprehensive service and support”, says Managing Director Hynek Zubr. “The most interesting sales products are our drives with decentralised frequency inverters – but we are currently focusing on offering the complete product portfolio and directly addressing new customers.”

The issue of sustainability also plays an important role for the NORD subsidiary. The company in the Czech Republic therefore deliberately invests in renewable energy and puts great emphasis on minimising its ecological footprint.
