Anniversary in the Netherlands

NORD is represented in over 80 countries with production, sales and service locations. This year, the Dutch NORD subsidiary celebrates its 40th anniversary.

NORD’s subsidiary in Hillegom , close to Amsterdam's Schipol airport, was established in 1983 to expand the activities of the drive manufacturer towards the Belgian and Dutch markets. The location is not only designed for service and sales but also for manufacturing gear units. It was expanded multiple times in the past and it now provides an office area of 700 m2 and an assembly area of 1900 m2. Around 8500 drive units are manufactured there per year. The production features four assembly cells, a painting line and a warehouse.

Years of continuous growth

The Dutch NORD location has been on a growth trend in recent years. Clear focus is on the topics of decentralised drive technology , drive electronics and geared motors . “The current challenges are the integration of electronic systems and digitalisation”, Gerhard Struut, Managing Director at NORD Aandrijvingen Nederland B.V., reports. “We are currently working on becoming a centre of knowledge for decentralised drive technology.”

Focus on local OEMs

In the future, NORD Netherlands wants to increase its focus on requirements of local OEMs and small series users. The core industries are the food and beverage industry, intralogistics and the packaging industry. The best sellers include the NORDBLOC.1® helical in-line gear unit and the manufacturer's aluminium gear units.
