NORD drive solutions ensure a consistently high product quality even with various formulations. NORDAC <i>PRO</i> frequency inverters in power ranges up to 160 kW control the industrial geared motors. High precision regulation and large overload ranges ensure reliable processes.
Our MAXXDRIVE® XC industrial gear unit provides the necessary power to achieve the required homogeneity even for high-viscosity products such as toothpaste. With torques of 242,000 Nm and higher, they provide speed and continuity and – with their torsionally rigid UNICASE™ housing – permanently withstand the enormous transverse and axial forces acting on the agitator shaft.

In cutting machines for food products, our NORDAC <i>PRO</i> control cabinet inverter ensures precise control of the contact pressure of bread, meat or cheese in the machine. This is made possible by the integrated PLC. It allows to freely programme drive-related control functions.
In combination with a UNIVERSAL worm gear motor, the solution achieves a high overload capacity. “Safe Torque Off” ensures functional safety: If the machine hood is open, the motor stops, as does the cutter.

Together, our NORDAC <i>LINK</i> decentralised frequency inverters and our IE5+ bevel geared motors can drive kilometres of conveyors in parcel logistics economically and sustainably. The energy-saving motors have a high efficiency over a wide speed and torque range. They also offer optimum energy consumption performance in partial load and speed ranges. This allows for the implementation of a significant variant reduction.
Furthermore, the solution convinces with very easy maintenance. The decentralised frequency inverters are mounted close to the motor. The connections can be established via simple and adaptable plug connections.

Automatic grooming on contact
Agriculture | Cow brushes
A brush “operated” by a cow requires an intelligently controlled drive. This is taken over by the NORDAC <i>BASE</i> frequency inverter, whose integrated PLC is used to programme application-specific functions. When in contact with a cow, the brush starts rotating automatically. If there is too much resistance, for example if the tail gets trapped, the brush stops and rotates in the opposite direction. In addition, the direction of rotation changes on each start and at intervals of five minutes. This ensures even wear of the brush elements.
The quiet-running NORDBLOC.1 helical in-line geared motor and the decentralised NORDAC BASE are mounted on the brush so that they do not rotate along with the brush. This eliminates cable breaks.

With their powerful functions with regard to positioning and safety, drive solutions from NORD ensure trouble-free theatre performances. Our POSICON module – here, in the NORDAC <i>PRO</i> control cabinet inverter – ensures precise positioning control to travel the scenery. With a standard-integrated CANopen interface, integrated brake management, line filter and extensive I/O interfaces, NORD frequency inverters feature optimum equipment for the high drive requirements on theatre drives.
The frequency inverter supports the “Safe stop” function. The system complies with the safety requirements according to SIL 3.
