The IE5+ is an especially energy-efficient permanent magnet synchronous motor. It is available in two variants: a ventilated version with a particularly high overload capability and robustness for intralogistics applications, and a smooth surfaced version for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

It is delivered in two sizes: Size 71 for power ranges from 0.35 to 2.2 kW; size 90 for power ranges from 1.1 to 4 kW.

The motor convinces with ultimate energy efficiency paired with compact design. It even surpasses the highest defined efficiency class IE5. Thanks to its relatively constant efficiency in various load situations, it can replace differently dimensioned drives in an overall system and thus allow for a variant reduction. This reduces the administrative efforts for the drives.

The IE5+ is compatible with the NORD modular system and can be mounted to all NORD gear units. It allows for different mounting options – NEMA C-face flange mounting, IEC B14 and IEC B5 flange mounting – and can be optimally equipped with an integrated encoder or a mechanical brake.

Yes, this lies in the technology itself. With the right NORD frequency inverter, the output speed of the motor can be adjusted over a wide range. In combination with its high overload capacity this allows for the variant reduction.
