The August issue of
Power Transmission Engineering
features an article on the strides NORD has made to deliver products that boost system and equipment efficiency and lower operating costs for its customers.
“If the trend in manufacturing to consolidate equipment and run factories more efficiently continues—and it will—NORD Gear Corporation won’t be playing catch up with the rest of the industry,” the article begins. “They’ve made it a priority in recent years to serve customers in areas like material handling, packaging, conveyors, etc., by focusing on system integration and smart manufacturing.”
From transitioning customers from large control cabinets to NORD’s
decentralized variable frequency drives
(VFDs) that take up less space, cabling and energy to the
NORDCON App
and NORDAC ACCESS BT Bluetooth stick, which offers remote diagnosis, analysis, monitoring and parameterization of NORD drive systems, NORD is leading the charge to provide its customers with the tools they need to operate efficiently.
“Energy efficiency is all about system efficiency, not just the motor anymore,” said Dan Breitbarth, engineering manager of control products at NORD. “We focus on the smallest details so our customers can concentrate on their own applications and not worry what the components are going to do or not do.”
In speaking to the strong growth the company has experienced for the past three years, NORD president Torsten Schultz noted the company’s philosophy of designing modular, highly flexible solutions has allowed it to continue to expand its market share in the intralogistics and baggage handling industries.
“These global customers need engineering knowhow and the confidence that the products being utilized can do the job. NORD is really reaping the benefits of putting in years of hard work in preparing our organization for the technology changes in these markets.”
